The Design/Build Process
Initial Appointment
When you schedule the first appointment, a member of our team will meet you at your property to discuss your goals, material preferences, and color choices. As we walk the property with you, we will discuss your ideas and their feasibility and determine the next course of action.
Design Agreement
Once the scope of work is determined, we will provide you with a verbal preliminary budget. If accepted, we will prepare a design agreement that specifies what we will design and include on the plan as well as what other documents will be provided.
Site Analysis & Design
Your property is evaluated during the site analysis. Structures, plants, and grade changes are all reviewed. Soil tests are also available to determine nutrient and pH levels. We then combine the site analysis with your own unique vision to create an aesthetic and functional outdoor living plan for your review. Details are tweaked until everyone is happy.
Contract & Scheduling
The contract spells out the scope of work to be performed with a line item break-down of costs. General terms of the contract and a payment schedule are part of the contract. When we receive the signed contract you are immediately added to our schedule. Typically a down-payment is requested with the signed contract, but this is not cashed until the start date of the project.
Construction
We begin securing both plants and hard goods needed for your project in advance of your scheduled start date. We also pre-plan the specific logistics of moving equipment, materials, and implementing the work. Our goal is to make your project as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Depending on the complexity and duration of your project, regular site visits are made during the construction phase by your designer, production manager, or crew leader. They are available to answer your questions or concerns or bring to your attention any unforeseen issues.
Completion of Project
At the completion of your project, your designer, production manager, or crew leader will walk you through the project to make sure you are happy with the end product. They will also provide you with watering and other general information for caring for your new planting.
