Mother Nature has helped by sending us a little rain; however we are still behind in rainfall from last year. Couple that with last years warmer temperatures well into Fall and we are actually in a bit of a drought which may add additional stress onto plantings. The idea of planting brings thoughts of spring. It is still too early to plant shrubs and perennials, but most trees can be planted now as long as the soil is not frozen. It is the ideal time to make plans for early spring plantings. Warm days always trigger the need to get outside so start planning for spring now, whether it be leaf clean up and pruning or a re-working of your planting beds Landscape Concepts is here to help. March is only a few weeks away and with March begins early landscape maintenance. That means that if we do have an extended warm period in the next couple of weeks you may need to consider putting down a pre-emergent herbicide on your lawn and in your beds earlier than normal. I always watch for the Forsythia to begin blooming as a sign that it is time to get the pre-emergent applied. As a bonus to our current customers we do offer a Spring Maintenance program to help get your planting beds cleaned out and ready for this years season. Be sure to call us early to get on our schedule board, it fills up quickly and Landscape Concepts wants you to be able to enjoy the most time in your yards stress free!
